Now accepting trumpet students!

Renowned trumpeter, composer, and educator Jun Iida is now accepting students for private trumpet lessons! With over a decade of experience as a performer and teacher, Jun offers a dynamic, personalized approach rooted in strong fundamentals, creative exploration, and a deep understanding of jazz and contemporary styles.

Students will build a solid technical foundation - focusing on tone, articulation, range, flow studies, and applied theory - while developing their unique musical voice through improvisation, listening, and stylistic study. Whether you're preparing for auditions, building confidence in your school band, or looking to expand your artistry, Jun provides mentorship tailored to each student's goals and experience level.

All levels welcome. In-person (NYC) and online lessons available.

TESTIMONIALS

Jun is an INCREDIBLE person and teacher, and I have recommended and would absolutely continue recommending him for a jazz trumpet teacher! […] He has a great understanding for both trumpet and jazz, and emphasizes the learning of both, but he is also very flexible in teaching the things you want and ask to learn. […] In the past year, I learned a ton about jazz and trumpet that would be very difficult to learn myself. It was great seeing through his perspective of a professional jazz player! Learning from Jun took my playing to a new level! He also supported me throughout my journey spreading my knowledge in jazz, as well as eventually leading my own jazz combo!-A.C. (student)

“Jun combines superior musicianship with educational excellence, making him a perfect choice for private lessons. Every time my son, 14, comes out of a lesson, he is inspired. I've seen his abilities grow significantly since he started with Jun, both in his handling of his instrument, and his understanding of music theory and jazz. Would strongly recommend!” -C.R.
